PBS 3.2.3 Stop the Bleed Video 3 Arterial Bandage

How should you stop an arterial bleed using this technique?

• Apply firm pressure using a gloved hand and then a few gauze squares

• Stuff the wound with cloth and then wrap with a bandage

• Apply a tourniquet around the top of the arm

• Stich the wound closed using a needle and thread.

A hypertensive patient has:

• High blood pressure

• Low blood pressure

• No blood pressure

• Normal blood pressure
