The remains of Chilean poet Pablo Neruda were returned to Isla Negra, a place that inspired much of his work. This marks the fourth burial of Neruda, who died shortly after the 1973 coup led by Augusto Pinochet. Initially buried in Santiago, his remains were moved to Isla Negra in 1992. In 2013, they were exhumed for an investigation into whether he was poisoned by the Pinochet regime. While awaiting results, his remains have been reinterred at Isla Negra, where his last wife, Matilde Urrutia, is also buried.
