Over the past decade, Greek companies and individuals have increasingly moved their businesses to Bulgaria due to lower costs and taxes. The banking and payment systems in Bulgaria, partly owned by Greek institutions, have facilitated this migration. Since 2010, over 60,000 individual bank accounts have been opened, and around 4,000 companies have relocated. This trend accelerated recently, with no negative impact on the region's image.
