Rounding Whole Numbers to any Place

This lesson teaches how to round whole numbers to any place value by examining the digit to the right of the target place. If this digit is 5 or more, the target digit is increased by one, and all digits to the right become zeros. If less than 5, the target digit remains unchanged, and all digits to the right become zeros. Examples include rounding 6,386 to the nearest hundred and 296,532 to the nearest ten thousand.
