A group of archaeologists discovered a tomb dating back to 1100 BC near Cairo, as announced by Egypt's Minister of Antiquities. The tomb belonged to a royal envoy and military archivist, adding to the historical knowledge of Saqqara, the necropolis of ancient Memphis and site of Egypt's oldest pyramid. The tomb was found near another from the same period, belonging to the army chief. Although the larger tomb was mostly mud bricks, these indicated the existence of the newly discovered tomb.
