Buried ancient Roman city found without excavating

Researchers from the University of Cambridge and Gand University discovered the ancient Roman city of Valerinovi, located 50 kilometers from Rome, which has been buried for 13 centuries. The discovery was made using ground penetrating radar (GPR) technology attached to an all-terrain vehicle. This method allowed the team to map the buried city, revealing structures such as a theater, market, bath complex, temples, shops, monuments, and atrium houses. The findings were published in the journal Antiquity.
