Militants killed nine members of an anti-Taliban group in Peshawar. The city is near unstable areas bordering Afghanistan, home to Pakistani Taliban and Al-Qaeda-linked militias. The Pakistani Taliban are waging a war to overthrow the government and establish sharia law. The attack involved 25 militants assaulting a militia leader's house, killing him and eight relatives. Earlier in February, the leader's son and two others were killed after they had killed a commander from another group.
