VOICED: Izquierda gana apoyo en Mexico

With a month to go before Mexico's presidential elections, the outcome is more uncertain than expected. The left, led by Andrés Manuel López Obrador, is closing the gap with the PRI's Enrique Peña Nieto, who was previously the clear favorite. Recent polls show López Obrador gaining support, partly due to student protests against perceived media bias and corruption linked to Peña Nieto. The PRI, which ruled Mexico for over 70 years, lost power to the PAN in 2000. The PAN's candidate, Josefina Vázquez Mota, aims to become Mexico's first female president but currently trails in third place. Mexico's presidency will be decided by whoever receives the most votes on July 1st.
