Cuba is returning to professional boxing after a 60-year hiatus. Six Cuban boxers, including Olympic medalists and champions, will debut professionally in Aguascalientes, Mexico. Since 1962, Cuban boxers have been restricted to amateur status due to Fidel Castro's ban on professional sports. Over the years, they adapted to semi-professional boxing, achieving success in the World Series with the Los Domadores franchise, winning three out of five editions, including the last one in 2018.
