Sharks are formidable predators with powerful bite forces and unique sensory abilities. They can detect electromagnetic fields and have an acute sense of smell. Unlike bony fish, sharks use their oily livers for buoyancy and have nearly 360-degree vision. They protect their eyes by rolling them back during attacks. Sharks must keep moving to breathe, using RAM ventilation, and can shut down their brains while swimming. Their skeletons are made of cartilage, not bones. Sharks have existed for over 450 million years, predating dinosaurs, and are highly evolved predators.
