Dolphins are mammals that share several characteristics with humans, such as breathing air, giving live birth, and nursing their young. There are over 35 species of dolphins, which can be found worldwide in both salt and fresh water. Dolphins are part of the whale family but are smaller in size, ranging from 7 to 13 feet long. They can be various colors, including white, black, and gray. Like bats, dolphins use echolocation to navigate and hunt. Most dolphin species have a single type of tooth, known as homodont dentition.
