On February 2, 1959, rock-and-roll stars Buddy Holly, Richie Valens, and the Big Bopper performed in Clear Lake, Iowa. After their show, they boarded a plane to their next gig. Shortly after takeoff, the plane crashed due to a storm and pilot error, killing all on board. This tragedy, known as 'The Day the Music Died,' was immortalized in Don McLean's song 'American Pie.' Fans continue to visit the crash site to honor these early rock legends.
