Typhoon Sudelor hit Taiwan, causing five deaths, 60 injuries, and leaving 1.5 million without power. It uprooted trees and caused landslides. Initially the strongest typhoon of the year, it struck Taiwan's east coast with heavy rain and waves, overflowing rivers. In China, 250,000 were evacuated from Fujian and Zhejiang provinces.
