VOICED: Vino de tomate?

Pascal Michet, originally from Belgium, has created the world's first tomato wine in Canada. Using 6200 tomato plants, he produces an exotic elixir. The wine-making process involves maceration and sugar addition to reach 18% alcohol. The wine, with its unique aromas, is gaining attention and will be featured in a chic restaurant in Quebec. Tasting notes highlight fruity and spicy flavors, with a hint of honey. Pascal relies on word-of-mouth and home tastings to sell 34,000 bottles annually.
