VOICED: Temblor en Indonesia causa panico

A powerful 8.6 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Sumatra, Indonesia, causing panic and evacuation as people fled their homes. Although a tsunami alert was issued across the Indian Ocean, it was quickly lifted due to the lack of significant waves or damage. The event briefly revived memories of the devastating 2004 tsunami that claimed 220,000 lives. In Bandasej, a predominantly Muslim province severely affected by the 2004 disaster, people gathered in a mosque to seek news of their loved ones. Fortunately, the waves did not exceed one meter in height along the western coast of Sumatra.
