VOICED : La ONU acepta supervisar fin de conflicto en Colombia

The UN Security Council agreed to oversee the end of the Colombian conflict at the request of the Colombian government and FARC. A political mission will be deployed for a year to monitor the ceasefire and disarmament. This mission is non-military and involves significant human resources, with the UN as the guarantor. The Colombian government and FARC have been negotiating since 2012 to end a conflict that began in the 1960s, resulting in 220,000 deaths and over 6 million displaced.
