China to break launch record and finish its space station in 2022

The government plans to surpass its 2021 record by launching 60 space missions this year, compared to last year's 55. The US, primarily through SpaceX, launched 43 missions. This year, SpaceX aims to launch weekly, making it challenging for China to exceed the US count. Among China's 60 planned launches are the final two modules for the Tian Gong space station, each over 20 tons and designed as science labs. The first module, featuring a robotic arm and airlock for easier spacewalks, is set to launch mid-year. The station's crew has already conducted two spacewalks and tested the existing robotic arm.
