Who was? Frances Perkins

Francis Perkins, born in 1882, was a pioneering advocate for workers' rights. Educated at Mount Holyoke and Columbia, she witnessed the Triangle Shirtwaist fire, which fueled her activism. She held significant roles, including U.S. Secretary of Labor, where she helped establish the Social Security Act and other labor reforms. Perkins continued to influence labor policies until her death in 1965.
