Jordan Journal: Amman

Amman, one of the oldest cities, is home to over 4 million people and spans more than 600 square miles. Historically known as Philadelphia, it features Roman ruins and religious landmarks like the Dome of the Blue Mosque and a Christian Church. Amman offers diverse shopping experiences and is modernizing with new architecture. The city embraces both traditional Jordanian and Western cultures, making it one of the most liberal cities in the Middle East.
