South Korean Pres. Syngman Rhee addresses joint session of US Congress and lays wreath at Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

South Korean President Syngman Rhee and his wife bid farewell to the Eisenhowers at the White House. Rhee presents a proposal to the U.S. Congress advocating for an Asiatic army, supported by U.S. air and naval forces, to combat communism in China. While Congress appreciates his patriotism, they are not enthusiastic about his plan. Rhee also visits Arlington Cemetery to honor the unknown soldier.
