FBI finds evidence that Pensacola attack was motivate by al-Qaeda

In 2019, Saudi Air Force trainee Mohammed Al Shamrani carried out a shooting at Pensacola Naval Air Station, killing three sailors and wounding eight others. The FBI found evidence linking Al Shamrani to Al Qaeda. As a result, the US Department of Justice disenrolled 21 Saudi cadets after discovering jihadi material in their social media accounts, although they were not linked to the attack.
