Who was Harriet Tubman?

Harriet Tubman, born into slavery in 1822, became a key figure in the fight against slavery. She led a Union raid during the Civil War, freeing over 750 slaves. Tubman escaped slavery in her 20s and used the Underground Railroad to help others gain freedom. Her leadership and courage made her a valuable asset to the Union forces, and she became the first woman to lead an armed expedition in the Civil War.
