The Italian Ministry of Sports announced the return of Serie A on June 20, after being suspended since March 9 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This makes Serie A the last major European football league to announce its return. The Premier League will resume on June 17, following health protocols, while the Bundesliga has already resumed on May 16 with closed-door matches. La Liga is set to restart in the week of June 8. In contrast, France's Ligue 1 has been permanently suspended, with Paris Saint-Germain declared the 2019-2020 season champions.
