The Swedish prosecution has dropped the sexual assault case against Julian Assange due to insufficient evidence. Assange, the founder of Wikileaks, was accused of sexual assault in 2010. After seeking asylum in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London in 2012 to avoid extradition, he was expelled and arrested in 2019. He was sentenced to 50 weeks in prison for breaching bail conditions. The alleged crimes in Sweden were set to expire in August 2020.
