During WWII, Norwegian commandos executed a daring mission in Nazi-occupied Norway to sabotage the Vermorg factory, the sole producer of heavy water, crucial for nuclear weapons. Heavy water, similar to regular water but with more mass due to deuterium, was vital for Nazi atomic projects. The commandos successfully destroyed the heavy water supply, thwarting Hitler's plans and earning the title 'heroes of Telemark'.
