VOICED : Un isla afrikaner en Sudafrica

Orania, founded in 1991 by Afrikaners in South Africa, is a unique community where the population is entirely white, speaking Afrikaans and practicing their culture. The town is self-governed, with its own currency and flag, and is managed by a council of landowners. Many Afrikaners, disillusioned with the new South African government and concerned about crime, are drawn to Orania, which grows by 9% annually. Residents enjoy a sense of security, leaving homes and cars unlocked. The community is currently tolerated by the government, protected by constitutional rights to self-determination, and aims to establish an Afrikaner republic.
