VOICED: Japan's economy remains fragile despite rebound

Japan's GDP grew by 0.9% in the second quarter, marking a return to positive growth after five quarters of recession. Despite this, unemployment hit a record high of 5.7% in July, with over a million job losses since last year. The economic rebound is partly due to a sharper decline in the previous months. Prime Minister Taro Aso's government faces challenges with rising unemployment and a massive national debt, which is 200% of GDP. Efforts to boost spending through cash handouts have not prevented a drop in household spending. The new government must address these issues while fulfilling electoral promises.
