Notorious fraudster Mark Acklom sentenced to five years

Acklam, a habitual con man, began his criminal activities as a teenager, committing credit card fraud and mortgage scams. After serving time in the UK, he moved to Spain, where he continued his fraudulent activities, leading to further imprisonments. Returning to the UK, he deceived Caroline Woods, claiming to be a Swiss banker and MI6 agent, and stole her life savings. Acklam fled to Spain again, changing identities and committing more frauds, including selling non-existent properties. He was eventually captured in Switzerland, extradited, and pleaded guilty to his crimes, leaving a trail of devastated victims.
