In Rio state schools, an experimental program incorporates Transcendental Meditation into the curriculum. Students report feeling calmer and more relaxed. The program is a partnership between Rio's Department of Education and the David Lynch Foundation, aiming to expand meditation to all public schools in Rio. Despite initial challenges with parental acceptance, the program has shown positive impacts, with 150 schools in Latin America benefiting. Research is ongoing to study the physiological effects of meditation.
