Rosangela da Silva, known as Janja, aims to redefine the role of Brazil's first lady. A sociologist and leftist activist, she married President Lula da Silva, focusing on women's issues like food insecurity and domestic violence. Janja played a key role in Lula's campaign, organizing events and being a visible figure in the transition team. Born in southern Brazil, she studied at the Federal University of Paraná and worked for Itaipu Binacional. Her relationship with Lula began in 2017 and became public in 2019. Janja was instrumental in Lula's presidential campaign and plans to enhance the first lady's role.
