VOICED : La ONU registra 66 masacres en Colombia con 255 muertes

The UN reported 66 massacres in Colombia, resulting in 255 deaths and the murder of 120 human rights defenders since early 2020. Michelle Bachelet, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, condemned the violence by non-state armed groups against rural, indigenous, and Afro-Colombian communities. She urged the Colombian government to take concrete actions to protect these populations. Additionally, 244 FARC ex-combatants have been killed since the 2016 Peace Agreement. The indigenous Nassas community has been particularly affected, with 66 members killed this year. Bachelet called for the dismantling of criminal groups and impartial investigations into human rights violations.
