Nine men Arrested over Terrorism Offences

Nine defendants, accused of targeting British landmarks, were brought to court in separate groups. They face charges of conspiracy to cause explosions and possession of jihadist literature. Arrested by the West Midlands Counterterrorism Unit, some of the accused are of Bangladeshi origin. The Crown Prosecution Service believes there is enough evidence for a conviction. All defendants were denied bail and will remain in custody until their court appearance at the Old Bailey.
