VOICED : Bachelet presenta proyectos para reformar sistema de pensiones

Michelle Bachelet, the President of Chile, introduced three projects to reform the pension system inherited from Augusto Pinochet's dictatorship. The reforms aim to increase pensions by 20% for over 90% of retirees and address the inadequacies of the current system, especially for women and the middle class. The government proposes a 5% employer contribution, with 3% going to individual accounts and 2% to collective savings. The reforms also plan to gradually increase contributions to 18% over six years. Additionally, a proposal will be developed to equalize military pensions, which are significantly higher than those of other Chileans.
