A terrorist attack in Susa, Tunisia, led to the evacuation of tourists and resulted in numerous European casualties. The attacker, a Tunisian student, concealed his weapon in a beach umbrella. The attack was claimed by ISIS and coincided with other global attacks in Kuwait and France. In response, Tunisia's Prime Minister announced the closure of mosques linked to terrorism and increased military presence to enhance security. Since the Arab Spring in 2011, Tunisia has faced a growing jihadist threat, particularly targeting its vital tourism sector.
