Isaac Newton, renowned for his work on gravity, is also believed to have invented the cat gate. While conducting experiments at Cambridge University, his cats frequently interrupted him by scratching at the door. To solve this, Newton asked a carpenter to create two holes in the door, one for the mother cat and another for her kittens. These holes are reportedly still visible at the university.
