An Australian entrepreneur in the Solomon Islands is developing a green fuel from coconut oil, which can replace or blend with diesel. Biodiesel is produced by altering the chemical composition of oils, removing glycerol, and adding alcohol. The Pacific Islands spend over $800 million annually on fuel imports, but replacing half of the diesel with coconut oil could reduce this by 10%.
