In Guadalupe, two fatalities were reported, and two people were missing. Dominica faced communication blackouts, hindering rescue efforts. The Prime Minister stated that the island's 70,000 residents lost everything money could buy. In Puerto Rico, residents prepared by stocking essentials and securing properties. Around 500 shelters were opened to accommodate 67,000 people, with the governor warning it could be the worst hurricane in a century.
