North Korean charged in cyberattacks on US hospitals, NASA and military bases

A North Korean national, Rim John Hill, was indicted for conspiring to hack U.S. hospitals, including one in Kansas. He faces charges of conspiracy and money laundering, allegedly working for North Korea's military intelligence. The malware attack encrypted hospital servers, disrupting services and risking patient care. Rim demanded a ransom of 2 Bitcoin from a Kansas hospital. Investigators found 16 other victims, including healthcare systems and federal agencies, affected by the scheme.
