Spain seeks to transition from an observer to an associate member of the Pacific Alliance, which includes Chile, Peru, Colombia, and Mexico. The Spanish Foreign Minister emphasized the alliance's importance and Spain's historical role as the first observer. Discussions are underway about a tripartite classification of members, associates, and observers. Spain is interested in becoming an associate, which could position Chile as a hub for Spanish exports to the Pacific market. Spain is currently the third-largest foreign investor in Chile, following the USA and the Netherlands.
