The Earth's crust is made up of plates that collide, pushing upwards to form mountains. This process continues even after a mountain is formed, causing it to grow taller over time. Mount Everest, the tallest mountain in the world, stands at approximately 8849 meters and continues to grow at a rate of about 2 centimeters per year.
