In Quito, a group of Amazonian indigenous people accused Chevron of suing them in New York for extortion related to an environmental damage case. They assert their innocence and defend their rights to life and nature. They claim Chevron is guilty and should pay for its actions. In 2011, Chevron was ordered to pay $19 billion for pollution caused by Texaco in the Amazon. Chevron argues the trial was flawed and accuses the Correa government of undue interference.
