Dinosaurs lived between 245 and 66 million years ago in a hot climate without polar ice caps. The Earth had diverse environments, from deserts to rainforests. Dinosaurs, mostly reptiles, needed warmth from the sun. Over 700 species have been identified, with the T Rex being a notable carnivore. T Rex had large jaws with serrated teeth, a keen sense of smell, and was both a predator and scavenger. It could move at speeds of 10 to 25 mph and left distinct footprints. T Rex fossils are found in North America and Asia.
