The United States has pledged $6 million in humanitarian aid to support migrants in Chile, announced by the US Undersecretary of State during a visit to Santiago. This brings the total US assistance to nearly $26 million since the Venezuelan governance crisis began. Migrants, primarily from Venezuela, have been crossing into Chile via Peru and Bolivia under harsh conditions. The aid will provide legal, medical, and basic needs support, and will be managed by ACNUR and the International Organization for Migration.
