Military ships are escorting teams to disarm Syria's chemical arsenal to Italy. The deadline for removing the most dangerous weapons is approaching, but security, logistics, and weather have caused delays. The disarmament plan resulted from a US-Russia agreement to prevent attacks on Syria, which used chemical weapons in Damascus. The plan aims to destroy all weapons by June 30, 2014. Over 130,000 people have died since the Syrian civil war began nearly three years ago.
