Enrique Capriles has become the prominent leader of the Venezuelan opposition. On a Saturday, both Chavistas and opposition groups organized marches across various cities. In Sucre, Capriles gathered around 50,000 supporters to demand the disarmament of paramilitary groups and protest economic decline. He addressed Leopoldo López, an opposition figure imprisoned for inciting violence, promising to support his release and emphasizing peaceful protests. The protests, initially started by students on February 4th due to insecurity, expanded nationwide, incorporating grievances about inflation and police repression. Clashes during some marches resulted in 10 deaths.
