In a record-breaking weekend, Neil Steinhauer set a new shot put record, surpassing his previous mark. Bob Segrin achieved a new world record in pole vaulting despite an injury. Kerry O'Brien, an Australian distance runner, won the two-mile run in Boston, setting a meet record. This was his second time running indoors, having previously set a record at the Milrose Games.
