Hydrogen and helium are the primary gases escaping, influenced by solar heat and magnetic field interactions. The solar wind affects Earth's magnetic field, allowing particles to escape. Mars, lacking a magnetic field, loses its atmosphere more rapidly. Despite Earth's protective measures, hydrogen loss continues, but it will take billions of years to deplete.
