NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo Mobilizes National Guard For Coronavirus

Governor Andrew Cuomo announced the use of the National Guard to collaborate with unions and private developers to establish temporary medical facilities for COVID-19 patients in New York. Due to the rapid increase in cases, Cuomo expressed concerns about the healthcare system's capacity and suggested converting empty spaces like dormitories into medical facilities. With nearly 1000 confirmed cases, Cuomo aims to create 5000 additional beds in New York City and may cancel noncritical elective surgeries to manage the crisis.
