François Pasquier started a picnic tradition 25 years ago in Paris, which has since spread globally, including to New York. Initially, guests wore white to recognize each other, a practice that became a hallmark of the event. The picnic fosters a friendly and hospitable atmosphere, where participants bring and share their own food with others, whether they know them or not.
