VOICED : Zika outbreak does not compromise OG says Brazilian President

President Dilma Rousseff assured that the Zika virus outbreak in Brazil will not affect the Rio Olympics. She led a campaign to combat the mosquito that transmits the virus, which is particularly dangerous for pregnant women. The government is confident in reducing the mosquito population before the Olympics. Around 220,000 military personnel are involved in door-to-door efforts to eliminate breeding sites, as 70% are found in homes. Although Zika symptoms are mild, there is a strong suspicion of its link to fetal malformations. Between October and February, 462 microcephaly cases were reported in Brazil, with 41 confirmed to be related to Zika.
